Cherryville Slingshot

Distance: 587 km (364.7 miles)

Description: Our favorite ride in the area. The Gold Pan Café in Cherryville is a great place to stop for a drink or bite to eat before heading back to the Needles ferry. The 31A between Kaslo and New Denver is a must, especially if you enjoy twisty roads and beautiful scenery along a river. And you even have the option to ride it both ways.

Cross Border Excursion

Distance: 427 km (265.3 miles)

Description: Lots of fantastic riding that takes in both the U.S. and Canada. Great twisties around Metaline Falls and Flowery Trail Road offers beautiful scenery and sweepers. Take a tour of the Box Canyon Dam and for stops along the way, Cathy’s Café in Metaline Falls and The Rancho Chico Mexican restaurant in Colville come highly recommended. Don’t forget to bring your passport.

Snakes & Lakes Ride

Description: This ride features snaky, curvy roads and lots of lakes. Take the twisty road up to Duncan Dam. Then head south to the Balfour ferry landing for a 45-minute free ferry ride across Kootenay Lake. Follow the amazing 270 curves on the 3A, along the lake to Creston. Visit the Blueberry Patch Country Market for a bite to eat or dessert and enjoy fresh strawberries from the hydroponic greenhouse. Or take a tour of the Columbia Brewing Company, brewers of Kokanee Beer. End the day riding sweepers on one of the highest paved highways in Canada from Creston to Salmo.

The Great Okanagan Adventure

Distance: 838 km (520.7 miles)

Description: Get an early start for the Big Dog Ride. Optional run out to Osoyoos, Canada’s only dessert town, with an incredible scenic viewpoint. If you have time, the sweepers on DH24 are well worth it. Probably best not to do this ride on Thursday, as you don’t want to miss the banquet.
